4/8/2017 1 Comment Rome's Jewish Ghetto...Hidden away in the Heart of Rome's Historic Center, you will find this gorgeous gem of a neighborhood. it also happens to be Home to Europe's oldest Jewish Community. Once a place of restriction and crushing poverty... The Ghetto is now one of Rome's high rent districts. Its a quieter Quarter of the city... a bit under-the -radar... but, I guarantee you will not be disappointed if you give yourself some time to wander about these streets. It is a maze. You will get lost...and you will LOVE it!! In recent years, this area has become most famous for its many incredible restaurants.
This once impoverished district gave birth to many of Rome's classic dishes. Eat here... Trust me! Eat, shop, wander... and make sure to enjoy the Turtle Fountain in Piazza Mattei ❤
